Watch: NYC Rat Tries To Carry Mammoth Pizza Slice Into Subway Lair!

You’ve got to hand it to Monday’s most popular internet rat — a tiny little guy, compared to some of the genetic anomalies we’ve seen crawling the subway these days, who isn’t letting his size get in the way of his big dreams.
“A rat tries to bring slice of pizza down subway station stairs,” wrote Matt Little, a local comedian who uploaded a video of the very real New York struggle to YouTube.
Or, he wondered, could it be ”Master Splinter bringing food home to feed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?”
According to Gawker, the video was recorded at the First Avenue L station in Manhattan.
Little’s footage cuts off as our rat is still staring longingly at his slice, which has become stuck on the third step up from the subway platform. We’ve reached out to the comedian in hopes he’ll give us some closure on the outcome of this Herculean effort; we’ll update when we hear back. As comrades in the struggle to transport mammoth pizza slices onto the subway system, the humans of New York need to know.
Update, Tuesday, 12:30 p.m.: Little has confirmed in an interview with the New York Post that pizza rat came back for seconds. “He came back up and bit into it. Then he took another bite,” Little said. And so we are at peace.
